BOTTOM PLAYER:
POSITION: Start from bottom any bottom half guard variation
OBJECTIVE: Stay on side, don’t play with back touching the mat
CONSTRAINTS: Don’t stall. If you go for a submission without a frame you lose.
WIN CONDITION: Sweep opponent, wrestle up, get a submission position with a frame (excepting triangle control)

- Armbar control
- Guillotine control
- Triangle control
- Leg entanglement (slx or saddle with frame)
TOP PLAYER:
POSITION: Start on top of half guard
OBJECTIVE: Turn opponent's frames into levers, get chest to chest
CONSTRAINTS: None
WIN CONDITION:
- Get training partners back pinned to the mat for 3 seconds.
- Get primary leg posted on foot for 3 seconds (the leg they’re holding with half guard).
- Get knee line free with chest to chest connection
ADDITIONAL VARIATIONS:
- Top player can also attack submissions
GAME GOALS:
- Learn the differences between open knee shield, closed knee shield
- Learn that bottom half guard is only good when you keep their knee on the ground.
- Learn to not just hold on for dear life when you’re on bottom. You need to learn to play attacks, not just defend.
